I would normally be getting excited about going morel hunting in early April. I go hunting with friends up near Yosemite. Sometimes the morels are plentiful and other times, they are really hard to find. Makes them taste all the more delicious!
They pair well with all the spring vegetables, favors, asparagus and peas. I love them with fresh cheeses, such as chèvre or sheep’s milk ricotta if you can get it.
